Classics are something that remains in fashion for more than a decade. Which we already discussed in our previous blog. This blog will talk about some other fashion words starting from ‘C’. For example cape, capelet, cap sleeve, clutch, cigarette pants, cold shoulders, chinos, cascade, cowl, cutwork, culottes, chicken work etc. Keep scrolling to learn more 😉
C stands for Cap-Sleeve!
Cap sleeve is not even a sleeve it is just a small piece of fabric covering your shoulder. It doesn’t cover your complete armscye but finishes in between. Above are the examples of cap sleeves. Black blouse is by JJ Valaya where you can see its finishing in between & second is by Shantanu & Nikhil a structured variation of a cap sleeve.
C stands for Cape!
A cape is an outer sleeveless garment, which covers wearer’s back, arms & chest. It has a fastener at the neck. The peach embellished cape is by Smriti which is the best pick for any evening occasion from sangeet to a cocktail party. Where else the royal blue cape is by Shantanu & Nikhil which is perfect for award nights.
C stands for Cascade!
Cascade is a band or stripe which is cut in a circular pattern and sewn in a line which creates a zigzag pattern. Generally used as a trim (additional decoration) on a garment. This exquisite black cascade gown is a good option for any evening occasion. And if you are looking for a dress for a club night then, this Namrata Joshipura’s cascade dress is a great choice.
C stands for Cowl!
A cowl is a drape of fabric usually in bias that falls in folds (the fall looks like repetition of shape ‘U’) It can be at neck, sleeve, pants or back as well. Both Malini Ramani’s dress & Aneesh Aggarwal’s garments have a cowl at the bottom so if you are an inverted triangle you must opt for it.
