When in doubt wear CLASSIC- Part III “STRIPES”

Whether horizontal, pinstripes, chevron, vertical, thin, thick, black and white or multi-colour, stripes make a graphic statement, day or night. And there wasn’t a time when stripes were out of fashion. And optical illusion that stripes create is impeccable, you must have heard it already horizontal makes you look wide/short and vertical makes you look lean/tall. But there is more to it, let’s discuss some of them below 🙂

Horizontal Stripes!

We have Malini Ramani’s collection where she has played well with stripes. The 1st Ombre Maxi dress has horizontal stripes created by sequins and if talk about aesthetics then gradation is the right pick. The second studded pencil dress is one of the classic pieces which can be worn as Friday dressing, by putting a blazer on it will look more sophisticated. Last one is an extension to the 1st one where again the stripes are created by sequins. This one will look great on both who is  either small or heavy @bust as it’s creating an illusion where you can’t tell if the person is heavy or small @top.

Striped Saree!

Saree being classics in itself when combined with stripes just adds the cherry on the cake 😉 Satya Paul’s Neutral saree with red as an accent colour is perfect of any event. It looks modern & chic pair it with halter blouse or a crop top, red lips, studs, handcuff with right heels & you are good to go! Next Mandira Bedi’s saree has subtle, smart & rich look. Its a great choice for semi-formal events. Last one is again by Mandira Bedi, I think it is zebra crossing inspired saree 😀 Jokes apart. This one draws the attention directly on stripes which is elongating length wise so good pick for petite women.

Stripes Variation!

So, here are some of the variations of stripes. Malini Ramani’s embellished maxi dress. Where vertically embellished stripes are placed in such a way where the negative space is creating an interesting pattern in itself, like a jagged line. On the other hand we have JJ Valaya’s Anarkali set creating chevron lines. It will look good on any body type & lastly Malini Ramani’s top & asymmetric skirt with curvy lines is the best option for inverted triangle women the way it is adding volume at hip with the help of cowl will balance your body proportions really well 😉

Guys, There are more types of stripes that you can look for! I just have covered the basics. I hope it was helpful.

Toodles! Catch you guys soon.
