The steady drumming of falling rain has always captured the hearts of poets, artists and lovers. The refreshing weather, low temperatures, cool breeze, sleepy mornings, hot coffee…I could go on forever listing reasons as to why we love monsoon! But, there’s just one ordeal all of us come across- what to wear when the sky is pouring out incessantly? There’s not just the issue of picking out one cloth that you are okay with getting mud on, but we also have to think of which fabric gets dried up quickly in case it gets wet. The low temperatures have to be dealt with a thicker cloth and the lack of sun needs to be looked after by wearing something softer.
There’s so much chaos in making this decision that I’d advise it’s best if you stay indoors and do what everyone says- put on pajamas, drink coffee and read a book or something 😛 But, anyway, I am going to help you with this really unavoidable decision that you have to make. DTR has some really good collection to get you through with the monsoon with vogue and comfort. How awesome would it be if you can wear designer clothes at cheaper rates and flaunt some vogue in this kinda season? I know, right!? Let’s check out some of my personal picks.
1. Say Hello to Monsoon.
Blue. The color of the sea and the sky resonates perfectly with the season of rains. A mini Teal-coloured Georgette Dress is the perfect go-to for a casual wear in the monsoons. The dress dries up quick and the short length doesn’t let it go all dirty. A creation of Ritu Kumar, this dress has all the flare that you need to keep it pretty and chic.
2. Denim Vibes
Can denims ever go wrong? Maybe to a wedding or a job interview but surely, not on rainy days. Made of tulle and denim, this Off-white Blue Midi Dress is comforting and trendy. With a combination of skirt-pockets and flower-like patterns on the bodice, it makes for a classic wear. Smooth colours and light designing has aced the style game in this case.
3. Mini in Rainy
Don’t worry about getting your legs tanned because the sun is hardly visible in this season. There are no second questions asked with a simple Black Short Skirt. Pair it with a blouse of your choice and be done with all the worries about how to dry your jeans once it gets soaked in water.
4. Off the Shoulder
Here’s a little out-of-the-box pick for walking around in rains. An Off-Shoulder Maxi Dress is an elegant and a comfortable pick for this season. Flowy, natural and easy to wear. With a coat and glasses on, you’re all set to shower some style of your own.
Monsoon is ready to set off, but the question is. Are you?
