A-Z Fashion Glossary: ‘Z’ stands for?

Z stands for zippers, zari & zardozi. You might know it already but still, we will look into it to get a clear idea. Let us learn the difference between zari & zardozi.

Z stands for Zari Work!

Zari work is an intricate art of weaving threads made of fine gold or silver. Satin and chain stitch is majorly used in zari work. The basic difference in zari and zardozi is that zari has a 2D surface while zardozi has 3D surface. Above are the examples of zari embroidery. This versatile blouse goes with any saree that has a lil bit of golden color and you can also wear a plain saree and show off the blouse. A plain saree with this blouse and this zari work clutch will look perfect together.

Z stands for Zardozi Work!

Zardosi often includes crystals, sequins, and pearl beading & that is also a reason that makes the surface look 3D. Bhaavya Bhatnagar’s saree gown has zardozi work onto the blouse and its placement is just right. You can wear it to any festive occasion and look outstanding. While on other hands Ritu Kumar’s zardozi clutch is the right pick to carry on any ethnic garment.

I am sure now you can make the difference just by looking at it from a distance. 😉 See you guys soon with the new topic. Toodles 🙂
