Today we will learn about G. Umm… words like gathers, godet, gota work, grunge, gothic, gypsy, gusset, gaucho that’s all I can think of. But, we won’t be going into detail with all the words I will leave some words for you to learn by yourself. I will cover the important once like gathers, gota, godet & gothic look!
G stands for Gathers!
The simple meaning of gathering is to pull the material/fabric into small folds. It creates fullness & looks graceful at the same time. Karieshma sarnaa has designed gathered kurta set, perfect for all Indian occasions.
G stands for Godet!
Godet is a triangular flared shape fabric inserts to give the garment extra movement. The skirt has a fitted upper part, with godet panels inserted at even intervals around the hem, giving it more swing. JJ Valaya’s kurta set is the perfect example of godet. G stands for Gota Work!
It’s an Indian embroidery originated in Rajasthan, India. It uses the applique technique. Small pieces of gold or silver zari ribbon are stitched on the base fabric to create interesting patterns. Add a twist to your gota work with chickan work and make it look smart & luxurious.
G stands for Gothic!
Gothic is a fashion subculture. Which in simple words means everything black. Typical gothic fashion includes a pale complexion with colored black hair, black lips, and black clothes. Both male and female goths can wear dark eyeliner and dark fingernail polish most especially black. I have picked three gothic styles for all the ladies out there. You can choose an Indian goth or a fusion or totally western. DTR has an option for all types of choices. But remember it’s all black even the lips 😉 Perfect for Halloween, isn’t it? 😉
