Living in India means discovering versatility. We are versatile with almost everything like culture, food, languages, songs, movies, clothes and the list goes on. Similarly this six yard of fabric is not just a piece of fabric, it tells a different story every time a woman wears it. It is a creation which looks sensuous & graceful at the same time. You can just buy one saree & create 100 different looks and yet be a head turner. It is a must have in every Indian wardrobe. All the handwoven & hand embroidered sarees like Uppada silk saree, Banarasi, Kanchivaram, Chikankari, Brocade & many more falls under classics and sometimes just a simple red and black saree or a decent saree gown looks classy as well 😉
Following are my favourite picks for you guys 🙂
Handwoven!
All the three above are Regional Exotica’s creation. Where 1st is Upaada Silk Saree in golden color. Mascara, light makeup, nude lips with right accessories will make your face look like deepika’s face from Bajirao Mastani movie. Next is Patola Silk Saree, just imitate the look as is & look prestigious. Last one is Banarasi Kora Silk Saree drape it in a lil modern way or pair it with a waist belt to add more interest.
Hand Embroidered!
Regional Exotica’s this section is for those who take pride in our heritage of textiles. White Chikankari and Badla work saree makes you look like an Indian Diva. Where, on the other hand Resham Hand Work saree will not let you forget your roots & lastly Chikankari Gota work saree is a great amalgamation of Lucknow & Rajasthan’s embroidery, which adds more value to it.
Less is more!
Red & Black looks sassy for any event. Ritu Kumar’s red saree with embroidered blouse will not need any more accessories then just holding a clutch and wearing a pair of studs. Nextly Mandira Bedi’s Red And Black Brocade Saree is a modern take of using traditional textiles which gives it a classy look. Lastly create a contemporary look by keeping everything minimal and throw a jacket on Chantilly lace saree 😉
Saree Gowns!
Saree gown now is the new way of wearing a saree. For the ladies who don’t know how to drape a saree, Saree gown is the right thing to put on. Shantanu & Nikhil’s beige saree gown with zari work blouse is a right pick for an engagement ceremony where on the other hand SOUP’s red saree is perfect for cocktail party and lastly Shantanu & Nikhil’s black gold saree gown is perfect for reception or award night. I am in love with that golden embroidered detail it has <3
