‘N’ stands for neoprene fabric, neckline, notch collar, non-woven fabrics, Nehru color, needlework & so on… We will be looking at fabrics like neoprene, non-woven & notch collar. Let’s begin.
N stands for Neoprene!
Neoprene is a synthetic rubber that’s often used to make wetsuits, hence its alternative name “scuba.” Neoprene has become increasingly popular as a material to wear on the street (not just in the sea) because many of the qualities that make it great for use in factories, like stain resistance and general durability, make it great for clothing, too. Shantanu & Nikhil’s gown is one of the great examples of neoprene pair it with drop earrings, a clutch, smoky eyes. Bhaavya Bhatnagar’s off shoulder dress is another example. Team it up with a jacket over the shoulder, pumps & cool sunnies.
N stands for Non-woven Fabric!
Non-woven fabrics are those which are neither woven nor knit, for example, felt. It is manufactured by putting small fibers together in the form of a sheet & then binding them either with an adhesive or by interlocking them with needles. Non-wovens are typically not strong (unless reinforced by a backing), and do not stretch. They are cheap to manufacture. The first one is Vinyl which is a plastic sheet and is in trend now. Second is spunbond nonwoven material used to make face masks. It is also used to make waxing strips.
N stands for Notch Collar!
It is a type of collar that when connected to a neckline lapel, creates a notch like effect. The zig-zag line at the neck which you can see in the picture above is called as a notch.
