The much talked about night of ‘International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards’ finally came to an end on 14th July’17 after putting up a great show indeed. It was not restricted to just awards and felicitation but to beautiful gowns and a few “embarrassing” quotes. Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan rocked the stage along with Katrina, Alia and Shahid’s mesmerizing performances. The stage witnessed some ‘below the belt’ words exchanged between the stars and tears of joy from the award recipients! And how can we forget the ‘NEPOTISM ROCKS’ banner held by the popular trio of Karan, Saif and Varun Dhawan’.
All in all, almost the entire Bollywood fraternity was gathered at New Jersey and in absolute mood for celebration. Okay anyway, we are not really here to judge people based on their parent’s achievements and certainly not to question their individual talent. Rather we are here to discuss some of the ‘best dressed’ celebrities who set the stage on fire with supreme vigour and panache. And also the ‘other celebrities’ who failed to create an impression with their quirky experiments. Have a look:
ALIA BHATT

For the main event, Alia Bhatt looked like a beautiful dream in her sequined mermaid gown by Zuhair Murad. And if rumors are to be believed it cost a fortune! Well, why not. Being the princess of Bollywood, she totally deserved and rocked the outfit.

For the other event ‘IIFA Rocks’, she chose her favourite designer Manish Malhotra’s embellished pristine white lehenga and looked absolutely gorgeous. She surely knows how to rule the red carpet.
NARGIS FAKHRI
Source
Nargis Fakhri stole the show with a deep maroon flowy gown by Gauri And Nainika. The choice of colour complimented her nude makeup and she tried to keep it with minimal accessories. All in all she looked breathtakingly beautiful!
SHILPA SHETTY
Source
Age is just a number and Shilpa Shetty just proved it! Sporting the risqué thigh-high slit, Shilpa stunned everyone with her Monisha Jaisingh gown. Her toned body and perfect height just added to the sexy silhouette.
DISHA PATANI
Source
Disha Patani’s outfit reminded us of Bella Hadid’s Risqué Beaded Gown by Ralph and Russo at the amFAR Gala. She donned her beautiful Phalguni And Shane Peacock’s gown with an elegant hairdo and an embellished body chain. Keep slaying, Disha!

She wore a customized rose gold mini dress by Zara Umrigar and paired it with metallic gladiator flats for green carpet of IIFA Rocks’17. Despite the colour of outfit and make up being on point, her dress failed to impress.
KATRINA KAIF
Source
Katrina Kaif set the red carpet on fire with her surreal powder blue gown by Ziad Nakad. Although we kinda got some deja-vu because of the striking resemblance to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Canne’17 look. But who’s complaining! We are always ready to witness Katrina’s mesmerizing avatars!
Source
However, she failed to create the aura she is known to set on the green carpet of IIFA Rocks’17. She chose a ruffled saree with a gold tassle blouse by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla that was too shiny and over the top for the occasion.
KRITI SANON
Source
For the press meet, Kriti Sanon wore a body hugging Amit Aggarwal dress with dramatic pleated hem and paired it with transparent pair of thongs heels. Unlike her enthralling performance on stage with Sushant Singh Rajput, her outfit failed to sizzle.
Source
Although we kinda loved her red carpet outfit. She wore a Mark Bumgraner off shoulder flared gown and paired it with ankle-strap block heels. She went low key with her accessories. The color of her outfit complimented her minimal make up well and she carried her look with subtlety.
SONAKSHI SINHA
Source
Sonakshi Sinha’s experiment at the green carpet of IIFA Rocks’17 failed drastically as she chose to wear a white saree with a multi coloured palla. She even went blonde for her look which was difficult to digest.
Source
On the other hand, she looked like a dream in her La Bourgeoisie dress that she wore for the main event. With little red embellishments throughout her outfit and perfect nude makeup, she literally painted the town red! Do you feel some ‘Beyonce’ vibes? 😉
TAAPSEE PANNU
Source
Taapsee Pannu walked the red carpet in Steven Khalil’s sheer dress. Although it couldn’t quite qualify for the best-dressed category, we send our heartiest congratulations to the actress for her ‘Woman of the year’ award. You go, girl!
BIPASHA BASU
Source
Bipasha Basu, known for her boldness, wore a Gaurav Gupta gown that gave us some sneak peaks of her curves through the sheer lining. Even with such a gorgeous outfit she failed miserably thanks to her over done eye makeup and bright lips. Had she been a little subtle with her makeup, she would have totally slain the look.
IULIA VANTUR
Source
Iulia Vantur wore a black and silver pant suit and paired it with open toed sandals. Her bright red lips just added to the unconventional choice of outfits for the green carpet. A big no from our side.
HUMA QURESHI
Source
Huma Qureshi just wore a really crazy off shoulder low high gown with ruffled feathers sewn to it. Her choice of lip color totally put down her already mediocre outfit.
Source
She made her main event entry in a Carolina Herrera powder pink fluffy gown with a navy blue belt around her waist and loose hair. Probably after her failed first appearance, she decided to opt for a “very safe” look and honestly we are not quite impressed.
DIA MIRZA
Source
Dia Mirza wore a Rocky S gown with weird embellishments around the neckline and on the sleeves. She teamed her outfit with huge dangling earrings and minimal makeup. Well Dia, sorry to say but your outfit is just not meant for the ‘Green Carpet’!
NEHA DHUPIA
Source
Going with a Hemant & Nandita printed voluminous gown and nude pumps, Neha Dhupia rounded up her look with pulled back hair and accessorized with jewellery from Outhouse and a metallic box clutch.
Source
She chose to go monochrome for her green carpet look and sported a voluminous tulle gown with a box and baby pink lips. Why on earth, but she decided to put on a slash around her waist that only added to the fluffiness of the outfit. Too much of accessories can be a downer. Ask Neha Dhupia about it!
